Tement is an 80 hectares estate located in Styria in Southern Austria, situated on a small mountain plateau with breath-taking views of the vineyards and neighbouring Slovenia. The family-run estate was founded in 1959, and is managed by Manfred and Heidi Tement and their two sons, Armin and Stefan. The family’s main aim is to melds tradition and innovation. As such, they believe that they can only make exceptional wines from grapes that are grown and vinified on their own property.
The main grape variety grown is Sauvignon Blanc, which makes up 60% of all vines planted. The grapes are harvested at the perfect time, fermented spontaneously and carefully aged in barrels specific to the location.
Today, Tement is biodynamically farmed, understanding the significance of the company as a form of modern circular economy in which wine is part of the overall concept. The estates partnerships with horse and cattle farmers promote the use of the own forest for energy generation.
Tement strive to deliver and achieve the greatest possible expression of origin in every bottle of wine.
