“Our aim is to produce naturalistic wines, which show the character, mineral taste and distinct acidity of the Mád terroir.” – is the motto of this 2,5ha micro estate that follows organic plant protection in the village of Mád in Tokaj Historical Wine Region in Hungary. The relatively young, just over 10 year old winery is a family affair with Bertalan the viticulturist, his son, Dénes, the winemaker and his wife, Eniko manages their Bistro/Guesthouse. The winery owns parcels in the Juharos, Danczka, Szilvás and Nyulaszó crus with very old vines. After hand harvesting, the grapes are processed in their cellar using a Kossuth press, natural yeast and no enzymes. Dénes since the beginning has been working towards to express the true character and minerality of their vineyards around Mád and Szarka Pince is a winery with a huge potential to become another star of Tokaj.
