Finding quality entry level wine is always a challenge as often these wines are produced for the mass market and therefore consistency in the quality is very hard to achieve. At Top Selection we crave challenges and we believe to have succeeded in finding the perfect easy drinking wine range from the Languedoc Roussillon – Domaine du Peras – an independent vigneron in Abeilhan, 15 kms north of Beziers. Not only does Mathieu Merlet, the owner/winemaker, like to focus on single grape varieties in order for the consumer to know what is in the glass, but he goes as far as harvesting at night time in order to keep the freshness, and the fruitiness, in the wine rather than the oxidised touch or cooked fruit taste which can be found in so many wines of the region. Entry level at its very best.
